Wenger not ready to commit future

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he is no hurry to commit his long-term future to The Gunners despite having less than two years on his existing deal.
The Frenchman has 18-months remaining on his Highbury contract, but believes he will be in charge of the North London side come 2006.

Arsenal should be in their new stadium in Ashburton Grove in two and a half years time, however Wenger can not guarantee where he will be.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has recently penned a rolling one-year rolling deal, but the Gunners boss is not ready to follow suit.

"No, not this season," said Wenger when asked if he would pen a new deal this season.

"There are one-and-a-half years to go. We're not in a hurry and I don't think there is any concern at the moment.

"My contract expires in 2005. The stadium should be open in 2006. I think that I will be there.

"But football is football and you never know. Can anyone guarantee that they will be in their job in two years' time?"

je le vois bien comme successeur de kombouaré
vous imaginer seulement arsene wenger en tant qu'entraineur du racing!!!

Franchement, Cicouche, Arsène si il vient au Racing, je ne le vois pas prendre en main le secteur sportif!
En fait, j'imagine aisément Gindorf (72ans) prendre du recul et laisser à  Arsène le poste de président. Keller garderait la main mise sur la direction sportive et Kombouaré garderait les clefs de l'équipe (ce qui confirmerait les rumeurs de prolongations de contrat).

Arsène deviendrait un président très médiatique, mais aussi un super conseiller sportif. Le club profitera de son aura pour considérablement augmenter sa reconnaissance nationale. Cette même aura agira aussi comme un "aimant" à  joueurs. En effet, si Marco doit batailler ferme aujourd'hui pour attirer des recrues de bon niveau, le poids d'un Wenger peut lui seul suffire à  faire pencher une décision dans le bon sens!
